Firewall Design, Installation, Maintenance, Management

A firewall is a core component in any security solution. It provides the barrier between a trusted and untrusted network, it acts as a border control guard regulating access to the network. If incorrectly installed or configured, it can undermine a company’s security policy and leave the company open to attack.

Interchange’s dedicated security team has the ability to provide a broad base of expertise on a range of industry leading Firewall products including, Cisco PIX, Cisco IOS Firewall, Nokia and Checkpoint and providing Interchange with the ability to design, install, configure, maintain and manage the given solution.

Design and Consultancy Services

Interchange can provide the consultancy and design for a Firewall, including:

  • Structuring of De-Militarised Zone (DMZ),
  • Changes and upgrades to firewall software,
  • Addressing schemes
  • Network routing tables
  • Access control Lists,
  • Rule bases
  • Independent advice on which Firewall is best suited to the required application.

Implementation Services

Interchange can provide the expertise to ensure that any installation is carried out in a planned manner to guarantee a successful installation. This includes:

  • Configuration of Time Based and Reflexive Access Control lists
  • Installing the Firewall feature set,
  • Network address translation (NAT),
  • Addressing schemes,
  • Network routing tables,
  • Rule bases,
  • Checkpoint, Nokia, and Cisco Firewall configuration,
  • Configuring Alerts for Syslog messages

Maintenance

Interchange operates a nation-wide field service capability based upon meeting each of their customer's needs with a flexible and high quality service.  To provide the highest levels of service and support, our experienced Field Service team operates from 5 offices throughout the country including three main service centres.

Providing the ability to maintain either or both of the Firewall Hardware and Software. We can supply flexible contract variations, Out of Hours Only, Working Day or 24 hours cover to ensure maximum support with a wide range of engineering resources and spares throughout the UK. Interfacing directly to our Network Services Control Centre, all incidents are recorded, actioned and tracked by a team of dedicated staff following ISO standard proceedures for call logging and escalation.
