What is Carrier Pre-Selection?

Carrier Pre-Selection is a government initiative managed by OFCOM designed to ensure that customers are able to benefit from the lowest rates available in the market for phone calls rather than being tied to standard BT call rates and in doing so save up to 30% on the cost of outbound telephone calls.

CPS enables you to achieve significantly lower costs for all your outbound calls using your existing BT line, without the need to change your existing BT telephone numbers or install any additional hardware. There is no disruption or inconvenience involved with CPS, no PBX reprogramming, no auto-diallers or manual prefixing; you keep your existing numbers and continue to make telephone calls as usual.

The result is a significant cost reduction when calling local, national, international and mobile phones.

CPS offers you the opportunity to achieve true savings without any change in the quality of service. Even if you are already using other suppliers Least Cost Routing (LCR) services via your BT lines, we are confident that our CPS service will not only compete on price, but will also be more convenient.

How do I get CPS?

To get the benefits of CPS cost savings, all you need to do is:

1. Sign and return the Interchange CPS agreement; and
2. Sign and return a separate Reply Card directly to BT to confirm the changes
