IT Policies: Managing BlackBerry®
Pearl in the Enterprise
A series of new IT policies have been developed
to make managing the features and functionality
of the BlackBerry® Pearl 8100
smartphone within your organization easy and intuitive.
1.
Camera
An IT policy exists that allows the administrator
to disable the BlackBerry® Pearl camera.
Like all BlackBerry® Enterprise Server IT
policies, this can be applied at an individual
level, a group level or across the entire BlackBerry®
smartphone deployment.
2. Expandable Memory
Administrators can also set IT policies to disable
the smartphone's expandable memory capability
and/or its ability to function as a USB mass storage
device.
Further, an IT policy allows administrators to
control data encryption on the expandable memory
card: they can disable encryption entirely or
encrypt the content to the user password, the
device key or both the user password and the device
key.
3. Over 200 IT Policies
In fact the BlackBerry® Enterprise Solution
provides administrators with complete control
over their wireless solution - through intuitive,
comprehensive IT policy management tools.
